With just about everything being Photoshopped today, it is refreshing to see photography mash-up artwork that was not digitally manipulated. Art Direct Stephen McMennamy takes photographs, looks for simple backgrounds that are easily incorporated together, then carefully arranges the two photos into one amazing picture. His early work was done with an iPhone but McMennamy recently acquired a new camera to improve the quality. He also now occasionally uses a drone.
McMennamy's technique is simple: he looks around at the work and identifies things that may make for an interesting fit or a nice contrast if they were combined. His art is built on a simple process: look around, find interesting things, and take the cleanest shop he possibly can.
