Eric Pickersgill, an American photographer, has recently finished an interesting photo project. He made photo sessions of people, removing the digital devices and smartphones from their portraits of everyday life. The curious project “Removed” has one main aim – to present the audience with the technology addiction we all have,
The inspiration of the photographer came after a chance encounter in a New York cafe. Then he saw a family with members that looked totally disconnected from each other and in fact… lonely and sad. The surreal effect shown on the photos has been achieved as the photographer has asked his models to remain in the position they usually are when holding their smartphones.
