To date, scientists have successfully discovered and categorized over 1.7 million animal and plant species out of which ¼ are estimated to be in existence. To an average person, most of these creatures do not exist as attested by this animal.
Not much has been documented about this animal which can be mistaken at first glance to be a killer whale.
In 1824, Joseph Paul Gaimard and Jean Rene Constant first documented the existence of this animal even though they had not seen it themselves. They relied on information from drawings and persons who had seen them first hand.
They generally grow to about six feet long even though the males are thought to be smaller than the females. What is known about these fascinating creatures is that squids are their favorite diet.
