Takhini Hot Springs is a natural hot springs located just outside the border of Whitehorse, Yukon, Canada. It is a locally run business which incorporates two pools at different temperatures and has a campground with over 80 sites. Every year people in winter visit this place and participate in the freezing hair contest.

The participants are asked to dunk their hair in hot spring water with a temperature of about 40 C/104 Fahrenheit and they let it cool in the freezing air above the pool. Usually in February the winter temperature is -30 C/ -22 Fahrenheit. The visitors are asked to make a unique and stylish hairdo, in which the winner will get $150 cash prize. Isn’t it interesting?
