A mother-child bond can be one of the strongest and purest feelings as attested by this koala bear that stood by its mother through a tough time.

After sustaining a number of injuries including an injury to the head from a car accident in an Australian highway, Lizzy, the mother bear needed surgery to save her life. Though Phantom was not hurt, she was able to stick by its mom during surgery.

Baby Phantom was full of love as she continued to hug her mother throughout the procedure.

According to the medical staff, the hugs by Phantom played a huge role in helping Lizzy with the recovery process. She is progressing well.
