The Field of Light that you will see below is created by Bruce Munro, an internationally acclaimed British artist known for his incredible and huge light-based installations. His latest project, which he presents now, is part of a series called Field of Light.

For this project the artist has chosen the area near Uluru of the great Australian outback as his canvas, paying respect to the country’s spiritual center. The incredible installation uses more than 50,000 light stems that are crowned with frosted-glass spheres. It further covers a surface area of the size of four football pitches.

The artwork of Munro is inspired by his interest in shared human experience. The idea behind his latest project came to him as he was traveling across the Red Desert to Uluru back in 1992. During this trip he felt a perfect connection to the heat, energy, and brightness of the desert landscape. This feeling is now embodied in his series “Field of Light”.
