Everything that we know today and find as granted, has happened for the first time in world history. Today we have gathered for you several photos of first times like for example – the first computer, the first selfie, and the first Christmas tree at the famous Rockefeller Center, but also the very first time bikini was shown in public and the first driving license for a motorcycle for a woman.

When Robert Cornelius improved on the technology of Louis Daguerre he received this picture. That was not just the first selfie but also the first distinct human portrait in the world. Then, the first color photo was taken by James Maxwell in an experiment with tri-color technologies. That natural phenomenon was first recorded by William Jennings. His aim was to know if lightning really had a zig-zag form.

An interesting fact is that the first car designed by Henry Ford in his garage was called a Ford Quadricycle. It  moved on 4 bicycle tires and ran on gasoline. Thanks to this success, Henry Ford decided to create the Ford Motor Company in 1903

The Bikini Atoll was the name of the new style of swimsuit. It was named after the place where the USA conducted nuclear tests only 4 days earlier. The Parisian fashion designer Louis Reard was the creator of the modern bikini and they were first shown in public on July 5, 1946, by the dancer Micheline Bernardini from the Casino de Paris.

The first MacDonald restaurant opened in San Bernardino. At the beginning, Richard and Maurice McDonald sold barbecue food, but then reopened the restaurant selling hamburgers, potato chips and French fries, orange juice, and Coca-Cola. Now next to the restaurant you can see a museum and also a gift shop.


Cygan, the 2.5-meter robot with a control panel, was advertised to be a “universal robot”. It could be used for assistance in experiments with poisonous and explosive substances or a home helper.

This is an image of the first Apple computer. It was developed by Steve Wozniak and presented to the public by Steve Jobs. The computer was bought by Paul Terrell. The next day, Jobs appeared barefoot in Terrell’s computer store called The Byte Shop. That was the first deal in the history of Apple.
