Snake Swallower Dies After Viper Bites His Tongue And Throat

A snake swallower daredevil has passed away after a viper bit their tongue and throat, which later caused a horrifying allergic reaction.

A video that is viral on social media right now shows the moment the farm worker, 55, was performing a trick, where he was about to trap the snake in his mouth.

The incident happened in a watermelon field in Astrakhan, Russia.

Reports said that the man had placed a viper inside his mouth before the incident happened.

During the third try, the man was bitten on his tongue.

The thing is, the snake that bit him is poisonous, however, its bite should not be lethal to humans.

A few hours later the unnamed melon farmer was admitted to hospital and diagnosed with Quincke’s edema after his tongue and throat swelled after an “allergic reaction”.

He then suffered a anaphylactic shock.

His tongue became so big that it was not fitting inside his own mouth anymore, which means he was gasping for breath.

Efforts by doctors at Kharabalinskiy district hospital failed to save him.

It is believed that news outlet Punkt-A confirmed that the snake was a steppe viper that was found amongst the stems of picked watermelons.

The report said:

The steppe viper is poisonous, but only insects can truly fear it. For humans, the poison is not dangerous.

The worker died from an allergic reaction that is similar to a wasp sting.

Officials have asked workers to avoid grabbing snakes in case they do come across one.

They added:

You just should not try to swallow a snake or carry out any other experiments if you are not sure that it may end up in an unfavorable way for you.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the unnamed farmer, may his soul rest in peace.
