A video that is viral on social media right now shows the moment a baby elephant was being rescued by Indian wildlife officers from a reservoir.

It is believed that the elephant fell in a water water tank of a remote village.
In the video, wildlife officers could be seen doing their best in rescuing the elephant as the mother of the calf was watching from a safe distance.
Officers used ropes and wooden planks to help out the elephant.
The video of the rescue was shared by Indian Forest Service Officer Parveen Kaswan.
They did not share where the incident happened.
Officer Kaswan said that the rescue operation happened for at least 4 hours.
Villagers and wildlife officials worked together to help the elephant get out of the reservoir after they accidentally fell down there.
Initially, the calf tried to climb the wall from a different side and failed.
Locals and officials created a new opening for the elephant and they did their best to direct it that way.
As the elephant tried to get out, they used wooden planks and ropes to help it out. The good thing is that it worked!
Bricks were also thrown into the reservoir in order to raise the ground level, but that did not do much.
It was later revealed by Officer Kaswan that a patrolling team reached the spot after a watchtower staffer saw the calf trapped in the reservoir.
Rangers and a mobile squad arrived to help the elephant get out of the reservoir.
During the operation, all communication between officials was done through radio transmission.
The reservoir will be repaired and protection around it will be added in order to avoid such instances in the future.
