Locals and forrest officials in India worked together for 8 hours in order to rescue baby elephant that accidentally fell in a 30 ft well.
It was said that the baby elephant fell and was discovered a day after.
The baby was with its heard, which lives in a nearby forest, when the incident happened.
According to official reports, the elephant fell in a well that is located in the Giridih district, which is located in the eastern state of Jharkhand this month.
Locals had to chase off the herd in order to rescue the calf, considering that the herd could attack them for getting near the baby.
The calf was found at the bottom of the well in the morning and as a result, the locals called the authorities for some help.
The local forest department used 3 backhoes to break down the wall of the brick well and created a sloping trench so the elephant could walk out on its own.
Shashikant Verma, a local government official photographed the entire rescue and shared it on social media.
The calf did not sustain any injuries during the incident.
8 hours after the rescue, the calf managed to walk out of the trench on its own.
No lift was used.
The good thing about this is that the local authorities did not care about the well and rescued the elephant.
