An extra player on the field and they allowed to let it happen.
Most of the time, a baseball team has 9 players on the field, however there was this one event where an extra player was allowed to hit the fields.
When did this happen?
Well, during the 9th inning of a Washington Nationals game, a praying mantis was seen sitting still on top of a player’s hat.
The best part about this is that the player did not kill or throw away the mantis, which could have ended their life, instead, it stayed there.
Who was the player?
Local news agencies have identified the player as Victor Robles.
Robles was sitting in the dugout in the bottom of the eight when the mantis went up their hat and stayed there even after he went out to take his place in center for the ninth.
In the beginning, Robles did not notice the mantis, but after some times, Robles realized that there was something over their hat.
Despite having an extra player, Robles and his Team lost.
Washington led 3-2 as they head into the ninth and ended up allowing the Phillies to score five runs on tis way to a 7-5 loss.
Despite all the action happening, the mantis never left the hat of Robles.
How long did the mantis stay?
The mantis was spotted on top of Robles’ hat as he was jogging back to the dugout after the third out.
That’s a lot of time to be honest.
