Football Fans Come Together To Save Cat From Falling To Death At Stadium

Not on my watch, probably the football fans.

Last week, a cat managed to get into the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, Florida and grabbed the attention of thousands of fans after they nearly fell to death.

As the game was in play, the cat wandered onto the upper deck of the stands during the first quarter.

The frightened cat slipped over the railing and ended up dangling around 50 feet in the air when the University of Miami Hurricanes and Appalachian State Mountaineers were playing.

The cat managed to hold on by clutching at some fabric, however, people under the cat realized that it could not hold for long.

Craig Cromer, a facilities manager at the University of Miami, talked about the incident with NBC Miami.

During the interview, Craig said:

They were trying to grab it from above and they couldn’t reach it, but they were scaring it downward. It hung there for a little while with its two front paws, then one paw, then I was like, ‘Oh my goodness, it’s coming soon.’

Craig and his wife are season ticket holders.

The duo brought an American Flag with them, as they do always, and unhooked the flag from the railing where it was draped and held it out just as the cat plummeted down.

The cat was saved by the couple along with the help of other people.

The cat was picked up by stadium security workers and was escorted to safety.

The stadium wrote that they had made a donation to the Humane Society of Greater Miami in the cat’s honor.

However, the current whereabouts of the cat remain undisclosed.
