A hummer in Florida, USA, went up in flames after its driver tried to hoard petrol.
The news comes amid the nationwide petrol shortage.
A recent cyber-attack saw the closure of the Colonial Pipeline.
That pipeline is a 5,500 mile long vessel for more than 100 million gallons of fuel between Texas and New Jersey on a daily basis.
Despite the fact that there is still petrol available in the country, people are panic buying.
One person that was panic buying was driving a hummer and they tried to load up on gas, however, things went horribly wrong.
The Citrus County Fire Rescue crews were called to a vehicle fire on the morning of May 12, 2021,
The driver only filled up gas cans at the Texaco Food Mart on West Grover Cleveland Boulevard when one of his 4 five-gallon containers spilled fuel and caused a fire to emit.
One person was injured as a result of the fire.
It was later revealed that the person did not get medical help on their own will.
Joe Biden, the current President of the United States of America, has released a statement about the incident, particularly gas stations that are taking advantage of consumers during such times.
Biden said:
I also want to say something to the gas stations: Do not, I repeat, do not try to take advantage of consumers during this time. I’m going to work with governors in the affected states to put a stop to price gouging, wherever it arises.
Authorities did not reveal any other information about the incident and the driver of the vehicle that got destroyed.
