A woman from India has become one of the oldest first-time mothers in the world after she gave birth to a boy at the age of 70.
Yep, you read that right, 70!
Jivunben Rabari and her husband Maldhari, 75, proudly showed off their son to the media after conceiving through IVF, which stands for In vitro fertilization.
The couple did not reveal the name of the first born.
Rabari, who does not have an official form of ID to prove her age, told the reports that her age is around 70.
This means that she is now one of the oldest first mothers in the world.
The thing is, she’s not the oldest, Erramatti Mangayamma, is believed to be the oldest after having twin girls in September 2019 at the age of 74.
Rabari and Maldhari, the couple, belong from a small village called Mora in Gujurat, India.
The two have been married for 45 years and have been trying to have a baby for 45 years, but were unsuccessful.
After getting to know about IVF, they gave it a try and luckily, it worked out.
Despite women not having menopause anymore, IVF is still effective.
Naresh Bhanushali, the doctor of the couple, said that it was one of the rarest cases that he had ever seen.
Talking about the couple, Dr. Naresh said:
When they first came to us, we told them that they couldn’t have a child at such an old age, but they insisted. They said that many of their family members did it as well. This is one of the rarest cases I have ever seen.
