Pet owner risks own life to save 8-month-old puppy from alligator’s grasp

A pet owner from Florida, USA, risked their own life to save the life of their 8-month-old puppy from an alligator’s grasp.

Mike McCoy, the pet owner, said that they would do anything to save their loved ones.

The man proved that after after they saved their 8-month-old chocolate labrador Jack from an alligator.

Yep, an alligator.

Mike and Jack were walking near a pond behind a middle school in Holiday, a town in Florida, when the gator appeared out of nowhere.

The alligator pulled Jack underwater.

Mike then carried out the unthinkable.

He jumped right into the water.

Talking about his selfless act, he said:

I previously read up on my environment and gators. I got around, thumbed him the eye, picked him out of the water so he couldn’t get anywhere until he let the dog go. And in the interim he decided, I don’t have him, I’ll bite you.

After the fight with the reptile, the owner and the dog managed to get back.

They required medical assitance.

The owner and the dog got stitches and are doing fine.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission (FWC) are currently finding ways to relocate the alligator.

They want the alligator in a safer place. 

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission (FWC) said that such attacks are extremely rare.

However, they also reminded the residents of the Sunshine State that it is important to keep distance from such predators. 

The victim did not reveal any other information about the gator or how big it was.
