An autorickshaw driver from Mumbai, India is making headlines all over the internet after it was reported that they sold their own house to pay the education fees of his granddaughter.
Desraj, who is from Mumbai, sold his house and his story was shared on Facebook.
One of his sons committed suicide years ago and another one passed away because of health relates issues.
Despite all responsibilities over him, the man still stands up strong and does everything he can to make things happen.
In the post, the man said that he performed the last rites of his 2 young songs.
Desraj said nothing is worse than doing for a father or any parent.
As a result of his sons passing away, Desraj takes care of his family and the only that is helping him is his daughter-in-law.
Because of hard times, his granddaughter asked his grandfather if she should drop out from school to help the family out, but the man was not about that life.
Instead of saying yes, he took the matters into his own hands.
Talking about his work, Desraj said:
I started working long hours. I’d leave home at 6 AM and drive my auto till midnight. Only then would I be able to make Rs 10,000 a month. After spending 6000 on their school fees and stationery, I’d be left with barely 4000 to feed my family.
But things did not stop there.
When his wife fell sick, he had to beg door to door so he could buy her medicines.
Her wife got well and selling the house paid off when his granddaughter scored 80 percent in her board exams.
He was so happy that he gave out free auto rides to his customers.
The granddaughter requested that she wanted to go outside the city to pursue her Bachelors of Education.
He could not say no, so he decided to sell the house and sent his family to his relatives in his native village.
Desraj is so selfless that he lives and sleeps inside his auto-rickhsaw to save money.
The man said that he wants to see his granddaughter become a teacher.
She will one day and Desraj, you will be there to witness the moment.
