Boat explodes after its passengers “harassed” a family because they were flying gay pride flags

A boat reportedly exploded into flames shortly after its passengers harassed a family because they were flying gay pride flag in the Moses Lake in the Washington State, USA.

Watch the entire video below:

A video of the boat in flames was shared on social media by Cosmic Robbie and in its caption, the user shared what happened.

Robbie said in the post, which was made on Twitter:

These people harassed my family because we were flying gay pride flags in Moses Lake Washington, by racing around us and shouting gay slurs. Then, their boat literally blew up!

Robbie also had a hashtag in the post, and it was #KarmaIsReal

Robbie said that he was chilling on his boat near Blue Heron Park with his girlfriend, brother, and brother’s partner when the incident happened.

The family was flying multiple transgender and LGBTQ rights flags when another vessel approached and a woman started to swore at them.

During an interview with BuzzFeed News, Robbie said:

Then the boat quickly made a sharp turn back towards us and went around us. I then again personally heard someone shout what I thought to be the word ‘gays’ so I asked my brother to pull out his phone and blatantly start recording in hopes that it would avoid conflict if they noticed.

Before the boat blew up in flames, the boat was circling them.

Recalling the moment, Robbie said:

They then attempted to speed away as they left a large cloud of smoke surrounding the area we occupied. After a moment, we heard a loud backfire and a sputter come from the boat. Though I could not see the boat, in the direction, I could see a cloud of black smoke rising quickly. The driver, possibly embarrassed, then rushed to start the vehicle again…  Another few moments pass and we hear an incredibly loud explosion come from the direction they were headed. Our driver shouted, ‘Holy crap! They blew up!’

The thing is, despite getting bullied, the family helped out the people that got stranded in the water.

Robbie said that they proceeded to help rescue passengers from the water after the boat blew up.

The Grant County Sheriff’s Office released a statement about the incident, where they said:

As of right now, we are trying to make contact with the occupants of the vessel being circled so we can interview them to find out what happened. We would like to know more, and once we can interview people, we will be able to know more without relying solely on a brief video.

Sheriff Tom Jones said that deputies that were on the scene said that the fire started from the engine compartment in the middle of the boat.

The owner of the boat and a passenger were burned in the incident, however, they did not get treatment.
