Woman Almost Killed After Meteor Crashes Onto Her Pillow Just Inches Away From Her Head

A woman from British Columbia, Canada, was almost killed after a meteor crashed onto her pillow just inches away from her head.

Ruth Hamilton, who lives in the idyllic ski resort of Golden, B.C., Canada, said that she was awoken by a loud bang.

Recalling the moment, Ruth said:

I just jumped up and turned on the light, I couldn’t figure out what the heck had happened.

Ruth sat up on her bed and found herself covered in dust and debris, which came from a hole in her ceiling.

Upon looking at her bed, she saw a black rock lying on her pillow.

Unable to explain what happened, Ruth called the police right away to seek help.

The police made enquiries at a nearby construction project to check if there hadn’t been any blasting.

During an interview with Castlegar News, Ruth said:

We called the Canyon project to see if they were doing any blasting and they weren’t, but they did say they had seen a bright light in the sky that had exploded and caused some booms. I was shaking and scared when it happened. I thought someone had jumped in or it was a gun or something. It’s almost a relief when we realised it could only have fallen out of the sky.

Ruth said that she was totally amazed that a rock from space could be billions of years old.

The good thing is that the rock landed just a couple of inches away from her head.

If it didn’t, the headline would have been completely different.

She went on:

The only other thing I can think of saying is life is precious and it could be gone at any moment even when you think you are safe and secure in your bed. I hope I never ever take it for granted again.

Ruth contacted her insurance company right away to get her ceiling repaired.

However, the insurance company told her that they have never had a claim like this before and would need to visit her home to assess the damage before confirming if it’s going to be covered or not.
