A brave mother tackled a teenager to the ground after she caught him peeking into the bedroom window of her daughter.
Phyllis Pena, a mother from Texas, USA, said she returned home from the store at around 7am on January 31, 2021, when she spotted someone in her yard.
The 19-year-old was looking into the window of her daughter and fled the scene moments after he saw the mother.
The terrified mother called the police, who arrived at the scene within a couple of minutes and arrested the boy.
The 19-year-old was only identified as Zayn Hawkins.
The boy managed to slip away, but the mother managed to tackle him NFL style.
The woman positioned herself and ran towards the police car when she notices Hawkins, who is wearing a dark blue jacket.
He also ran away from the officers.
She wrapped her arms around the man and tackled him to the ground.
A friend of the mother helped her restrict the movement of the boy until the police officers catched up.
During an interview with KPRC, she said:
My first instinct was just to make sure he didn’t go any further. The cop fist-bumped me and he was like, ‘Hey, so I heard the Texans are looking for a new linebacker’.
The daughter of Phyllis said that she does not know him personally, however, she heard his name.
The Lake Jackson Police arrested the boy. He was booked into jail and is facing charges of possession of a controlled substance, evading arrest, and resisting arrest.
More charges could be added.
Authorities did not reveal on why Hawkins was looking into the room of the girl.
The daughter is just 15 years old.
