Owners of bakery print burglary suspect’s picture on sugar cookies to get public help

A bakery in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, is making headlines all over the world for their unique way to get help from the public in identifying a burglary suspect that carried out a crime in their premises.

The owners of the Canfora Bakery went through security footage after their bakery was robbed.

Eric Krieg and Karen Krieg found a clear picture of the robber’s face and printed it on around 100 sugar cookies.

The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel said that a man jimmied a lock open at the bakery and stole the cash draw.

The robbery happened on April 19, 2021.

Talking about their unique way to find the robber, Karen said that they wanted to get help from the community.

The couple took an image of the suspect, printed it on edible paper, were handed out to local customers, and were shared on social media.

Talking about the incident, they said:

The bakery was robbed of cash and equipment on Monday April 19th. So, we made delicious sugar cookies with his image on them!. We invite the Bay View community to come on in and take a bite out of the thief while supplies last – one per family.

Their idea was so amazing that it went viral on social media right away.

1 week after the post was made, the bakery announced that the man had been identified.

The police later confirmed.

The Milwaukee Police Department said that a 45-year-old man was arrested for being involved in the case.
