The super couple doing super things.
Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively, the super couple, has donated a total of $1.5 million to food banks during this coronavirus pandemic.
It was announced that the couple recently donated $1 million to the food banks named Feeding America and Food Banks Canada.
They did that during this pandemic.
Recently, they gave away $500,000 to the same organizations.
Talking about their kind act, the super couple said:
We are honored and privileged to be able to continue our support of Feeding America and Food Banks Canada. We know the struggles of so many of our neighbors faced last year are not over and we are grateful for the opportunity to help facilitate the important work of food banks across the US and Canada to be able to provide nourishing meals to the people in need.
Blake and Ryan got married in 2012.
The couple have 3 kids, who are Betty, James, and Inez.
The organization said on social media:
When #COVID19 first hit in early 2020, @VanCityReynolds and @BlakeLively generously donated $500K (USD) to US sister organization @FeedingAmerica and to Food Banks Canada helping kickstart our COVID-19 Response Funds. It was an act that inspired so many Canadians to donate to their local food banks and show their support to their neighbours during these critical times. Our heartfelt thanks and gratitude ONCE AGAIN to Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively for pledging another $500K in support of our COVID-19 Response Funds.
In November of last year, the couple did something similar.
They donated $250,000 to the Covenant House Vancouver, which is located in the hometown of Reynolds.
Another $250,000 was given to the Covenant House Toronto.
Their donation will support the homeless, the people that are at heavy risk, and are trafficked across the nation.
Krista Thompson, the CEO of the Covenant House Vancouver, said:
Ryan and Blake truly understand that young people who are facing homelessness deserve unconditional love and absolute respect. Their generous donation and compassionate support mean so much to Covenant House and we are truly grateful for their continued friendship. Just like Ryan and Blake, we hope this gift highlights the value of each and every youth; and inspires others to open their hearts to those struggling with the crisis of homelessness.
Talking about the Covenant House, Reynolds said:
