A 14-year-old girl is currently being hailed as a hero after she managed to fight off robbers with a machete as she defender her mother in a horrifying robbery.
The terrifying incident that we are talking about happened in the neighbourhood of Rafael uribe in Bogota, Columbia.
According to reports, the incident happened on February 4, 2021.
A biker reportedly stopped by a stationery shop and forced an entry at 4am.
Noticias Caracol, a local broadcaster, said that the owner’s 2 daughters, who are just 2 and 14, were inside the shop when the incident happened.
Grabs from a CCTV footage shows a man, who was wearing black, walking into the back of the shop where the cash register is located.
The brave teenage girl was seen confronting the robber as she threatened him to back off with a machete.
She brandishes the blade in the air and pushes the man out of the shop.
The robber had another person waiting outside, but after the machete was waved, the 2 ran away.
Reports suggest that the mother of the girl was shop when the robbers were leaving the shop.
The mother, who was not identified, was treated at a hospital with injuries that have been identified as non-life-threatening.
The mother said:
While I was pushing him, she was wielding the machete at him and he was backing away.
The girl then said that this is not the first time that the robbers have tried to rob the shop of the mother.
The girl added:
I already had it in my head that if anything happened. I would take the machete and hit them.
