3 Angry Snakes? No, It’s Moth Disguised As A Snake Trying Defend Its Eggs

A picture that is viral on the internet right now shows 3 angry snakes, which has left people baffled after finding out that the picture doesn’t really have snakes in it, instead, it’s just a giant insect.

Rob Allam, a twitter user, shared 3 images of the snakes in order to reveal its true identity.

In their post, which was made through the username @thegallowboob, shows the Attacus Atlas, which is also known as the Atlas Moth, one of the largest known lepidoptera, a type of inspect species  that I includes butterflies and moths.

While sharing the pictures, they said:

Attacus Atlas is one of the largest butterflies in the world and lives only for two weeks with one goal in their adult stage – lay eggs and defend them until they hatch while disguised as a snake.

Despite showing that the animal is not really a snake, the users on Twitter were not agreeing with his claims.

A user said:

Without zooming in and reading, I thought this was a ‘look, I saved this butterfly from the snake attack’ kind of photos. That disguise is really good.

A second user said:

How’s that top one not an actual snake? This moth would live longer if it didn’t look like I wanted to beat it with a broom.

A third user also tried to spread awareness while commenting on the post, saying:

Snakes are beautiful and often friendly creatures, if you just let them stroll past you and don’t agitate them. If not venomous, they can’t really even harm you. Especially pythons are so friendly, you can often carry them around on your shoulders. Please don’t harm snakes.
