Head Of ISIS In Greater Sahara Killed By French Forces

The head of the Islamic State in Greater Sahara has been killed by the French Forces.

The latest killing has been marked as a “major success” in the fight against the terrorist group in Africa.

Adnan Abu Walid al-Sahrawi was reportedly assassinated in an unknown country in West Africa.

The spokesperson for Emmanuel Macron, the president of France, confirmed the news and said that the leader was “Definitely dead”.

President Macron also confirmed the news on Twitter.

They said that al-Sahrawi was neutralized by the French Forces.

The leader was responsible for ordering an attack that killed four US Special Forces solders in Niger in October 2017.

He also admitted personally ordering the murder of 6 French aid workers, who were shot dead by ISIS gunmen in the country last year.

After the ambush in 2017, the United States Military had placed a $5 million bounty on al-Sahrawi’s head.

After confirming the news of the death, Macron paid tribute to the troops who had been killed in the region.

Macron said:

The Nation is thinking this evening of all its heroes who died for France in the Sahel in the Serval and Barkhane operations, of the bereaved families, of all of its wounded. Their sacrifice is not in vain. With our African, European and American partners, we will continue this fight.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family members of the victims that were killed by the ISIS in Africa, may their souls rest in peace.
