Police Officer Adopts Little Girl He Comforted While On Duty

A police officer from Arizona, USA, is making headlines all over the world for doing such a good act.

The Arizona Police Officer adopted a little girl that he had comforted while they were on duty.

Yes, that happened and everything about it is just amazing!

Brian Zach, a lieutenant of the Kingman Police Department, and his wife Cierra, became parents to 4-year-old Kaila.

According to reports, everything started in 2018.

In March 2018, Zach was working as a patrol sergeant when he and other officers got a call, where they were instructed to check on a residence.

The house that they had to visit was the home of Kila.

The little one is a survivor of abuse and Zach, the officer, spent the entire night bonding with her.

Talking about the entire thing, Zach said:

We colored, we snacked … she held my hand and she was just this cute little thing. Once detectives came, they picked her up and took her to the hospital.

Zach, who is a father of 2 other children, went home after spending some time with Kaila.

He told his wife that he wanted the kid to come live with them as a permanent member of their family.

At the time of the incident, Kaila was being treated for multiple injuries that she got as a result of physical abuse.

Officers said that criminal charges were filed against the caretakers of Kaila.

The child protective services failed to find an immediate house for the girl at that time, so Cierra, the wife of Zach, and Zach himself stepped in to do something good.

Talking about the incident, Zach said:

She came with a sippy cup, a bag of clothes that didn’t fit her and that was it. Within the second day she was calling my wife ‘mom’ or ‘mommy’. “I was ‘guy’ for a week or two and then when she started preschool she learned who dad was.

Fast forward to last year, something good happened.

On August 18, 2020, Zach and his family officially adopted Kaila.

The amazing thing happened at Mohave County Superior Court in Lake Havasu City.

Zach, the father of Kaila, said:

We lived each week not knowing if she was going to go back to her biological parents, or how long we were going to keep her. Our goal was to love and care for this little girl for as long as it happened.

Zach said that Kaila loves going to school, dancing, animals, and making plays.

What an amazing thing to do!
