Boy Playing Hide And Seek In Bin Is Picked Up And Thrown Inside Garbage Truck

A little boy that was playing hide and seek in a bin was picked up and thrown inside a garbage truck.

7-year-old Elias Quezada, who is from Hillsborough County, Florida, was hiding in a garbage bin when the local workers came along to collect the trash.

The boy was not spotted hiding inside the bin.

As a result, he was picked up by the mechanical arm of the truck and was thrown into the back of the truck.

Talking about the incident, Elias said he initially thought that it was the end for him.

During an interview with WFLA, he said:

I got picked up and thrown to where I was going to be a mashed potato. I was thinking, ‘this might be the end for me’.

Luckily, he was saved.

The driver of the garbage truck spotted the little one as he was tumbling inside the bin.

Luckily, he was not crushed and managed to live and tell the tale to his entire family.

Waldo Fidele, the man, said that Elias was inside the bin and upon noticing him, he turned off the truck’s blade and called 911 right away.

Recalling the moment, he said:

Looking at the camera, I see something drop. I come outside, I see him, he said, ‘Help me, help me’. I said, ‘OK, you’re OK now’.

Carmen Salazar, the grandmother of Elias, said that the boy had been only been out for a number of minutes when she heard the commotion.

Upon going outside, she realized what had happened.

The woman said she was just relieved that the driver saw the boy and nothing serious happened.

She added:

In a minute, he went out, and the next thing I hear is the sound of the truck and a guy screaming. I’m very thankful that he was looking at that camera at that time and he acted so fast, because otherwise, he wouldn’t be here.

No one was injured in the incident, confirmed the authorities.
