A 55-year-old man from Florida, USA, was arrested and put in jail after they punched their girlfriend for changing the channel while he was watching the Super Bowl.
Thomas White was charged with felony battery for intentionally striking the woman against her will.
The incident caused great bodily harm.
According to the arrest report, Thomas and his girlfriend got into an argument after she changed the channel away from the Super Bowl LV.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Kansas City Chiefs were playing.
Investigation carried out by the Alachua County Sheriff say that a fight started out between the couple.
White punched his girlfriend, who was not named.
She received cuts on her face and chin, along with a bloody nose and a swollen wrist and hand.
When the police went to the house, substantial amount of blood droplets were found on the ground and on the wall.
White told the investigating officers that the victim was running her mouth and made him angry.
He also told that the victim slapped him and swung at him.
White said his reaction was an act of self defense.
White has a previous felony conviction for battery, which he carried out on a woman that was pregnant.
The police also said that the victim did not have any indications that she had been abused for some time.
