A 46-year-old man passed away after 7 pitbulls ripped off his face when he was on his morning walk in Brazil.
Aglacir de Macedo Pereira was ambushed by the dogs in Lageado Feio, a rural area of southern Brazil, when they were on their morning walk on February 2, 2021.
He was enjoying his morning walk when the savage dogs escaped from a farm through the below of a gate.
Locals rescued him from the attack and call an ambulance.
They then helped him down the road and met the ambulance that was sent to pick him up.
Pereira was rushed to Santa Cruz Hospital in central Pinhao, which is around 20 miles away from the incident.
The dogs bit off all the skin that was on his face.
His skull was completely exposed when he was brought to the hospital.
The aunt of Pereira said that the man was like his son.
She was the one that raised him.
The family of the victim have accused the owner of the dogs of failing to keep the animals penned up properly.
The aunt said:
He was like a son. I raised him since he was two years old. We ask people who have these animals to take care. We do not want other people to go through a situation as sad as the one we are going through.
The authorities did not reveal the name of the man that owns the dogs.
The police have launched an official investigation into the incident.
The owner of the dogs can be facing charges.
