A man was fined for breaking coronavirus rules because they drove around 100 miles so they could visit a McDonald’s branch because their town did not have one.
Yes, that happened and McDonald’s, you should give this man some prize.
The man, who is 34 years old, already had a warning on his name, but still, he decided to travel from Luton to Devizes.
The incident that we are talking about happened on January 14, 2021.
The man was stopped when he was travelling and was given a £200 fixed penalty.
He was also given a notice and the vehicle that he was using was seized because it had no insurance.
Still worth that big mac that you were chasing? I don’t think so!
The Wiltshire Police released a statement about the incident, where they said:
We encourage the public to make sure they are up to date with the most recent government guidance by visiting www.gov.uk/coronavirus to ensure you understand the rules clearly and what they will mean for you. The majority of people across Wiltshire continue to act responsibly and we thank you for that, however, it is important to protect the NHS that we all stick to the rules. If you have concerns about someone potentially breaching the Government’s restrictions we would urge you to report this online via the Report section of our website to help keep our phone lines free for other police matters.
