North Korea bans skinny jeans, mullet hairstyles, and lip piercings

North Korea has officially banned their citizens from wearing skinny jeans, getting mullet type hairstyles, and getting lip piercings.

Kim Jong-un, the dictator of North Korea, unveiled the latest rules.

It is believed that it is part of the country’s latest crackdown on fashion and trends.

The country does not want to replicate exotic and decadent western lifestyles.

Along with the 3 styles, Kim also banned ripped jeans, slogan T-shirts, and nose rings because he feels like they are all representing a capitalist society.

According to South Korean Media, the ruling was announced in the public through an article in Rondong Sinmun, a newspaper company the country.

The article said:

History teaches us a crucial lesson that a country can become vulnerable and eventually collapse like a damp wall regardless of its economic and defence power if we do not hold on to our own lifestyle. We must be wary of even the slightest sign of the capitalistic lifestyle and fight to get rid of them.

North Korea currently has 15 approved haircuts.

Men and women are only allowed to get them when they visit their local salon or barber.

Residents of North Korea are also not allowed to watch videos from Western Countries.

Magazines from Western Countries are also not allowed.
