Waitress Saves 11-Year-Old Boy From Abusive Parents By Passing Him Note In Restaurant

A waitress from Orlando, USA, is currently being hailed as a hero after they saved an 11-year-old boy from their abusive parents by passing him a note as they were in the restaurant, asking if the needed any sort of help.

Flavaine Carvalho, who is from Orlando, USA, is being hailed a hero for the amazing work that she carried out.

The woman was working at Mrs Potato Restaurant on January 1, 2021, when she saw the boy.

She gave him a note and asked if he needed any help.

31-year-old Kristen Swann and 34-year-old Timothy Wilson II, the parents of the boy, were arrested after the incident.

Wilson, the father, was arrested on 1 count of third-degree child abuse and after 5 days of the arrest, he was arrested again and was charged with multiple counts of aggravated child abuse and neglect.

Swann, the mother, was charged with 2 counts of child neglect.

Talking about the incident, Carvalho said that she new something was wrong when the parents ordered food for themselves but did not order anything for the child.

Carvalho said that Wilson told her that the boy would eat at their home.

He had bruises on his arms and face.

Recalling the incident, Carvalho said:

I could see he had a big scratch between his eyebrows. A couple of minutes later, I saw a bruise on the side of his eye. So I felt there was something really wrong.

The waitress approached the child and gave him a note as she stood behind him so that the parents could not read it.

The boy then signaled that he does need it.

The authorities were brought in and the boy was taken to a hospital.

Doctors then found out that he was 20 pounds underweight.

The boy told the police that his father beat him with a wooden broom, hung him upside down, and forced him to do 30 minute planks.

The boy also said that he was not allowed to eat on a regular basis and was usually tied.

A police spokesperson said:

What this child had gone through, it was torture. Seeing what that 11-year-old had to go through, it shocks your soul.

The boy and his 4-year-old sibling were rescued by the authorities.

According to reports, the Florida Department of Children and Families are the one that brought in the kids.
