Daughter Of Pablo Picasso To Donate 9 Of Her Father’s Work To Settle Tax Bill

A lot of Picasso work are going to be made public next year in Paris!

The daughter of Pablo Picasso, an iconic Spanish artist, is set to donate 99 of her father’s works so she could settle a tax bill in France.

86-year-old Maya Ruiz Picasso will be donating 6 paintings, 2 sculptures, and a sketchbook to the national collections at the Picasso Museum in 2022.

The news confirmed by French Culture Minister Roselyne Bachelot.

In a statement that was made by Minister Machelot, he said:

It is with deep emotion that I come to celebrate the entry into the national collections.

The daughter of Pablo is using the work to help settle an inheritance tax bill, said French finance minister Bruno Le Maire on Monday.

The announcement was made during a press conference at the Picasso Museum in Paris, Art News reported.

A tweet that was made by Le Maire on Twitter, he said:

t is an honor for our country to welcome these new artworks by Picasso. They will enrich and deepen our cultural heritage.

The overall monetary amount of the collection was not specified by the museum and politicians.

Ministers are reportedly arguing for tax secrecy.

It also remains unknown on how much the tax dispute that the artist’s daughter and the French government had.
