Elon Musk Says He Will Sell Tesla Stock If The UN Can Prove Money Will “Solve World Hunger”

Elon Musk, the world’s richest person ever to live, has said on Twitter that he is willing to sell stocks of his company Tesla if the United Nations can prove that money can or will solve the world hunger problem.

The billionaire released a bunch of tweets after the director of the World Food Programme said last week that he needs to do something to make a difference.

During an interview with CNN, David Beasley, the director of the World Food Programme, called on Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos, the second richest person in our planet, to reconsider where they are using their money.

He said during the interview:

$6 billion to help 42 million people that are literally going to die if we don’t reach them. It’s not complicated.

We all know Elon Musk and his competitive spirit, which led to him doing what he usually does, making tweets.

In a bunch of tweets that he made, Musk called out the UN Official and said:

If WFP can describe on this Twitter thread exactly how $6B will solve world hunger, I will sell Tesla stock right now and do it. But it must be open source accounting, so the public sees precisely how the money is spent.

David Beasley read his tweets and replied.

Replying to Musk’s tweets, he said:

I can assure you that we have the systems in place for transparency and open source accounting. Your team can review and work with us to be totally confident of such. Let’s talk: It isn’t as complicated as Falcon Heavy, but too much at stake to not at least have a conversation. I can be on the next flight to you. Throw me out if you don’t like what you hear!

Elon currently has a net worth of $311 billion.

Beasley claims that just 2 percent of his wealth can save more than 40 million people that are “going to die”.

Talking about solving World Hunger, Beasley said:

6B will not solve world hunger, but it WILL prevent geopolitical instability, mass migration and save 42 million people on the brink of starvation. An unprecedented crisis and a perfect storm due to Covid/conflict/climate crises.

In the end, Musk had a request for Beasley.

He said:

Please publish your current & proposed spending in detail so people can see exactly where money goes.

Let’s hope the United Nations does come up with a plan that can convince Elon Musk to donate a huge amount of his money to help solve the huge issue.
