US President Joe Biden cancels funding for Trump’s controversial border wall with Mexico

Joe Biden, the current sitting president of the United States of America, has cancelled the funding for former president Trump’s controversial border wall with Mexico.

Biden rescinded the national emergency order that was used to fund the wall of Donald Trump between the US and Mexico.

It was done in a letter that was written to Congress on February 11, 2021.

In the letter that Joe Biden wrote that no American tax dollars should be spent on the wall.

In the year 2019, Trump declared a state of emergency over the southern border.

The move allowed him to bypass the decision of Congress and use military funds to construct the massive wall.

The wall played a huge role in the 2016 presidential campaign of Donald Trump.

After the initial declaration of the state of emergency, Donald Trump continued the proclamation in February 2020.

This allowed him to diver an additional $3.8 billion from the Pentagon towards the construction of the wall.

According to a report by the BBC News, around $25 billion had been spent on the project by the time Trump had left the Office.

In a letter that was sent to the Congress, he said:

I have determined that the declaration of a national emergency at our southern border was unwarranted. I have also announced that it shall be the policy of my Administration that no more American taxpayer dollars be diverted to construct a border wall, and that I am directing a careful review of all resources appropriated or redirected to that end.

The president announced in that they are going to look into a review of all resources that were appropriated or redirected to construct the wall.
